Aqua Inks for Plastic and Metals
Finding one plastic/ metal ink that will print all items is impossible, as these inks print onto a nonporous surface and bond to the structure of the item as they cure. The complexity begins as most items are coated with a sealant, or contains an outer skin that forms when the item is moulded, which is designed to protect the item - also naturally rejecting any ink you apply!
A note on recycled plastic - every time plastic is recycled the chemicals used in the re-bonding process are more solvent than the original process with the outer skin naturally rejecting ink, so the cheaper and more recycled a plastic, the more solvent and toxic the ink required to print becomes. It's a downward spiral that means the more recycled the more towards an acid you need to use to print. We do not support this type of printing as it's advanced and you must use extraction fans and professional equipment to print. In most cases the cheaper item will result in more printing problems and lost time than if you had spent the extra cents and purchased a higher quality product!
Important Note
NEHOC is changing the manufacturer and formulation of the Aqua ink from a Japanese to a locally manufactured ink. Codes listed on this page may differ to those displayed in price lists and catalogues, as the codes on this page are the new format.
The ink formulation is also changing, with the new formulation providing a greater adhesion onto many items. The new ink is also thinner enabling flood coating and quicker air drying on items.

Curing The Ink
No manual Setting is required.
After printing the ink naturally air dries, the water based medium evaporates and the pigments/ binders become part of the item below, forming a permanent bond to the item.
