Jigs, Hinges and Printing Carousels
Print straight and align multiple colours
A jig is primarily used to register the design over the item to be printed, by holding the frame containing the design and printing in the exact same position time and time again.
Print faster
A jig dramatically speeds the printing process by eliminating many time consuming steps in one process - a massive time saver when printing even just a few items. By holding the frame (also the squeegee resting inside the frame between prints), you instantly remove two thirds of the time taken to print:
no picking up and putting the screen down between prints - less mess
no registering the design over the item before printing - less chance of smudging
resting the inked squeegee in the frame between prints - no mess and saves time
Reduce printing errors
Using Table Adhesive on the board of the jig, combined with the frame held still during printing, eliminates movement of the screen/ item and therefore smudging of the print. Low ink mid-print resulting in a faint print, missing the edge of the design with the squeegee or other minor errors are quickly fixed by reprinting - as the item is held still and the frame remains in position.
Opaque Inks and 'off contact' printing made easy
Table Adhesive holds the fabric flat, the large clamps enable the frame to be raised and the speed of printing in a jig reduces ink drying in the screen between prints - making the process as easy as normal printing.
